- Zero VOC adhesion promoters: Synthesized in water, stable in water, easy post adds. We can improve any WB acrylic, PUD, or many other WB systems with marginal add on to raw material cost base. We offer 12 different grades. Improved wet adhesion, reduced corrosion. Use level typically 0.35 wt. per cent on polymer solids.
- WB coatings and adhesives
• B-515.71W (amino) Largest selling product for WB acrylics, PUD. Used in WB adhesives and coatings
• New Product B-516.71HRW (diamino) now seen to outperform B-515.71W in many systems. We urge evaluation of both. On glass, C-515.72HR is the product of choice (see #5, below).
- SB coatings
New F-515.71R, F-525.3: Synthesized in PEG 300 (polyethylene glycol) for ease of incorporation into most SB systems (2K epoxy, 2K PU,) polyester melamine, etc.
C-515.71HR, C-516.72HR: For 2K Epoxy, 2K PU
C-523.2H: For Acrylic
- Powder Coatings
Chartsil solid adhesion promoters: Proven performers for use in powder coatings to reduce creep at scribe, sharply improve corrosion resistance (for CRS, galvanized, Al, and other metals).

Superb Durability on Glass |
| |

|
| |
A study was conducted looking at various Chartwell products in WB Acrylic DAP glass sealant. The sealant was applied to bond 2 clean glass microscope slides with a 1 inch overlap.
After 72 hours of drying, the bonded slides were placed in water at ambient temperature. Time to failure (separation) is as follows:
CONTROL |
< 24 hrs |
B-515.71W |
48 hrs, 0.35% |
C-515.72HRW |
288 hrs @ 0.35%
96 hrs @ 0.70% |
B-519.71W (new product) |
72 hrs @ 0.35, 0.70% |
| C-515.72HR |
2740* hrs @ 0.35% (*no failure yet!)
96 hrs @ 0.70, 1.00 % |
Conclusion: C-515.72HR has remarkable ability to bond WB acrylic to glass at 0.35%. This product differs from C-515.71HR (caustic neutralized) in final step where it is neutralized with MEA.

Water-borne DTM |
| |
 |
| |
Commercial DTM applied at 1.5 dft CRS Q-panel. Panels scribed. Water soaked 240 hours, ambient temperature. Control on left. On right, post-add of 0.35% Chartwell B-515.71W. Results: Extensive undercutting and corrosion at the scribe on the control (left). No undercutting or corrosion with B-515.71W coating (right).

WB Bonding to vinyl flooring/ carpeting with WB acrylic |
| |
 |
| |
Commercial WB acrylic flooring/ carpeting adhesive. Bond assembly consisted of vinyl flooring to plywood. Adhesive allowed to fully dry for 72 hours at ambient temperature and water soaked for 168 hours. Control on left: failure mode is adhesive failure.
On right: 0.35% Chartwell C-515.71HR post-added to adhesive. Failure mode is now COHESIVE FAILURE ONLY. The adhesive strength to both vinyl and plywood is greater than the cohesive strength of the adhesive.

Water-borne acrylic glass sealant |
| |

|
 |
| |
WB acrylic commercial window sealant. Two glass slides bonded as shown above to form sandwich structure. The sealant as allowed to fully dry for 72 hours. Bonded assemblies immersed in water at ambient temperature for 168 hours. Virtually all sealant is removed from sandwich at left (control). The two glass slides are easily separated.
In each of the two Chartwell containing assemblies (center and right) virtually no sealant removed. Attempts to separate the slides result in fracture of the glass.
